Easy Dill Tartar Sauce

If you are looking for an easy Dill Tartar Sauce, this is it! Stuck at home, I have been missing my favorite fish and chips with a tangy dill tartar sauce. This recipe pretty much duplicates what I was missing, a creamy, tangy tartar sauce, where you can taste the dill pickles and dill flavor. It gives your fish a kick! It’s so close to the restaurant style of my favorite restaurant, that I can’t tell the difference!

Here it is. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients for Best Dill Tartar Sauce Recipe -

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients and stir.

Taste to test.

If you prefer less tangy flavor, then add optional sour cream and cucumber to thicken and mellow out the flavor as desired. I did add a bit of sour cream to the version I served below.

Cover and chill or serve immediately.

Excellent with battered fish of any type, even frozen battered fish and chips!

Makes about 1 cup /3 to 4 servings.

Does your sauce need to be thickened?

If you follow the recipe, the sauce will be similar to a chunky dip. If you are still wondering how to thicken tartar sauce, and you want it to be slightly thicker you can add more cucumber which won’t change the flavor too much, but will make it even chunkier. As well, you can add more mayonnaise, which has a thicker consistency than sour cream. Experiment with adding slightly more chopped dill pickle as well, until you get it to the consistency you like. If you make sure you pat the dill pickle and cucumber with a paper towel to remove excess juices, this will help. Or you could use slightly less lemon juice and only have the worcestershire sauce.
