I was having bloating issues for a two week stretch and wanted to calm my symptoms down. Even though I had never tried bone broth but had heard about its healing potential and I didn’t want to spend all the time making it from scratch. In this post I am sharing both of my recipes using first the Prairie Naturals Organic Beef Bone Broth, and then secondly the Prairie Naturals Chicken Bone Broth. I trust the Prairie Naturals Bone Broth as they are Organic (Beef) and Cage Free (Chicken).
Easy and Delicious Beef Bone Broth Soup
Here is the full soup recipe for Beef Bone Broth Soup. I have purposely shown additional spices as optional, in case you have a sensitivity to pepper, garlic or other seasonings. But certainly you can add these if you choose to enhance the flavour.
Ingredients:
Caution: Please check the ingredients for any allergies / food sensitivities, before trying this recipe.
2 scoops of Prairie Naturals Beef Bone Broth (see label for detailed ingredients)
3 1/4 cups of water
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper (optional)
2 – 3 carrots peeled and sliced
1 celery stalk chopped
1/4 – 1/2 cup frozen edamame (or frozen peas)
1/4 – 1/3 head of cabbage chopped
Beef 3 to 4 oz (Extra Lean Hamburger, Beef Sirloin, Beef Liver, or your choice)
1 T Avocado oil for Meat
Instructions
Wash and cut up vegetables.

Fry up beef of your choice in 1 T Avocado oil, drain any fat off meat. In this example I used 2 oz extra lean ground beef and 2 oz beef liver. In the past I have just used the ground beef. Both versions tasted great!

Combine 1/4 cup of water and 2 scoops of Bone Broth powder, Stir until minimal lumps, as these will melt away during cooking. Add remaining water.

Bring broth to a boil, then reduce. Add all remaining ingredients and let simmer for 4 to 6 hours. Makes 3 – 4 servings, so double recipe, if necessary.

Serve with gluten free bagels or your choice of accompaniment and enjoy this super healthy Bone Broth soup.

Any leftovers can be kept in fridge for 2 to 3 days and reheat. Add water if needed to create additional broth. It will taste even better the next day so adding another 1/2 cup of water if needed will not change the flavour very much.
Easy and Delicious Chicken Bone Broth Soup
For the chicken version of this recipe, I substitute the Bone Broth for the the Prairie Naturals Chicken Bone Broth powder ( Cage Free chicken), as well as cooked chicken for the meat. The rest of the recipe is pretty much the same.

Added bonus:
This recipe would be considered low fructan, as the cabbage is well cooked. It is also gluten free. I am happy to say my bloating issues are now under control with the changes I have made in the last 2 to 3 weeks. I believe the bone broth soup has made a huge difference!
