Hello again! Here is my latest vintage porcelain and china collection and Floral Sprays China Display which I have been working on for a few months now. I have been thrifting and collecting Floral Sprays china in various brands and patterns and combining it with Burgundy colored Floral Sprays china in my latest display.
I was getting addicted to the pattern as I find it so cheerful and fresh and of course beautiful. It’s just perfect for spring and summer decorating and entertaining.
For those of you who don’t know what I mean by Floral Sprays patterned china, it really is just a collection / bouquet of flowers in a particular color pattern and it may be repeated on the porcelain or bone china. As most of you know, I usually have one piece that gets me going on a particular display.
In this case, I had a couple, one was a pattern set that my mother had, she brought out for every birthday and served cake on it. This is one of the last ones left of her set and it is called Myott Staffordshire “Dorothy” Plate #6022 Made in England.
Over 2 years ago I had purchased some sandwich plates with different bands of color along the edge and they all had the floral sprays in the middle.
From there, once I started watching out for more, I realized this was a thing, so I started collecting more floral sprays patterned china.
One of the best examples in my display is the pattern by Hammersley which really has captured my interest the most. It is called Howard Sprays by the artist F. Howard of the Hammersley company, and is quite collectible and well known.
I wanted to have a teapot that represented this pattern, so I ordered this teapot from Hammersley on Ebay called “minuet”. It is simply beautiful and makes me happy just to look at it. See below:
