My New Farmhouse Hutch

My new farmhouse hutch is so cute!!! Some of you may have seem my previous displays and noticed that while I have the new Welsh Dresser, that I love, I was lacking another hutch for my other displays and had been using shelves and other objects for my displays.

Being on a retirement sized budget, I was looking for something with a smaller hit to my budget but with the space to display my vintage red enamelware, or my Ironstone and White China.

Well, I found one!!! for only $129 CAD, which is truly amazing!

Update: November, 2022: For my next post on red and white vintage enamelware follow link: Red and White Enamelware Display.

Here it is!

I don’t even mind the scratches which give it a bit of character 🙂

Of course, I had to start filling it up. The first display in this white farmhouse hutch will be my red vintage enamelware. I also found a few extra items at the same dealer, so I was happy happy happy! The vintage red cannisters are so cute as well.

I started adding my red enamelware, a couple items from our farm (a pitcher and basin from our sauna) and the rest I have been collecting over the years. I also added the red toolbox and red handled mixer and potato masher.

Of course, a kitchen has to include some rolling pins, a white pitcher, a thermos and a Rooster egg holder!

Below I added my grandparents red salt and pepper shakers (one original from our farm that I found in the Blacksmith Shop!), some red vintage pot holders, a butter mold and washboards at the side 🙂 There is also the red Libby’s Ketchup bottle that I found in my recent farm unboxing. See previous blog post here: Unboxing More Farm Collectibles. I also added some red linens in the drawers, love these!

Final Touches

For a final touch, I added my aunt’s red needlepoint Recipe Box, some vintage glass ice cream bowls (from my grandmother) and a vintage glass measuring cup 🙂

Okay, I guess I am going crazy again…this time for red! But that’s okay, we have to keep our minds occupied and busy somehow these days!

In future I will add a post with white vintage ironstone 🙂
